Swainsboro Kart Track Race Info 2024
The official site to buy gas is the Kwik Shop in Swainsboro. The Kwik Shop is located on Hwy. 80 (East Main Street), next to Daniel’s Chevrolet.
1st Priority Safety
- Do not go out onto track.
- Safety gear: Approved helmet, neck collar, racing jacket, racing gloves, chest protector for youth plate classes. Hair cannot be exposed.
- A 10 lb. fire extinguisher is required in every pit. (Mandatory)
- Engines can only be cranked while in the grid or at your parking spot.
- If you or your crew go up the stairs or in the scoring tower you will be disqualified.
- Transponders: Drivers responsibility: If you leave grid area, it is too late. 2 lap courtesy if do not leave grid area, if you get to grid on time, you will enter track at rear of field at discretion of staff.
- Only one crew member per kart is allowed in the staging area and that person must leave when their kart goes onto the track.
- Do not bring your kart stands onto the grid area.
- All karts must weigh after qualifying.
- The top 3 karts must weigh after feature races.
- After qualifying begins, only drivers in the scale/tech area.
- It is your responsibility to be lined up and ready to race on the grid. If you are not lined up within 3 minutes of the checkered flag of the previous race, you will start on the rear of the field.
- Once the green flag falls, no one will be allowed to pull onto the track for that race. The only exception is if you are held up in the tech area from a previous race.
- All races will start single file.
- Do not pass anyone until the green light is turned on. On starts and restarts, passing on the inside is not allowed until you reach the flag stand.
- If you are caught passing before the green light comes on, on the initial start or restart, you will be charged with 1 caution, 2x you will not be scored for the remainder of the race.
- If the leader fires early 2x, he will be placed in the rear of the field, unless there are 5 or less entries, then driver will be asked to leave that race.
- Do not leave seat of kart while on track unless directed by track official. No working on karts on track.
- We do not throw a caution for every spin. If a kart spins or breaks and is on the infield or off the track and it is determined that it is at a safe distance from the racing action, the caution will not be thrown. If you spin, get your kart moving or get it away from the racing action.
- If it is determined that you bring out a caution intentionally you will be black flagged.
- Driver will be asked to leave track after being responsible for 2 cautions
- Engines will be restarted 2x on the track during class. Kart will be rolled to inside of track or removed from track after 2 tries.
- Lapped karts (passing is the responsibility of driver). You cannot run over karts that are being passed. Slow down or go around at the proper point on track.
- If you enter the pits for any reason during your race, stay in the pits.
- There is a time limit on each race, determined by number of entries
- Total laps: Qualifying will be green white checkered. Features will be 15 laps, 4 entries will be 10 laps, and 3 or less entries will be 8 laps
- If your kart finishes in the top 3 in any class and is raced again, make sure you bring it back to the tech area, no matter where it finishes in another race.
- Post race: Kart engines are to be shut off before leaving concrete area. No driving karts on scales. No kart haulers in tech area. No loitering in tech area post race. Officials will have you enter area as needed. 1 person in tech shed with engine being inspected.
- Claimer rule for Predator class/classes: The track can claim any motor or any part in the Predator classes at any time. If your motor is claimed by the track you will be given another motor or parts claimed.
- Protest (with $200.00) must occur within ten (10) minutes after the race is over.
- Make sure you turn your transponders in before you leave for the night. Turn transponders in at the registration booth. Do not bring the transponders to the scoring tower.
- The rules and the classes are subject to change.
- NKA motor rules in the classes it pertains to. This does not mean we will operate under NKA rules as a whole. In most cases it will be NKA rules; however in some cases the Swainsboro Kart Track rules will supersede NKA rules.
- If it is determined that a kart is deemed illegal by the track tech official after post race inspection or after a protest the first offense will be a disqualification(s) for the night. The second offense will be a 6 month suspension. Any offense after that will be a year’s suspension. Trophy & money will be forfeited.
- The tech official’s decision is final.
- Any questions, suggestions, or doubts regarding any matters should be directed, in a civilized manner, to kart track officials for a clarification, preceding post race (tech) for current event, preferably before pre race for current event.
- The absence of a specific rule does not imply approval, consent or permission regarding that subject.
